Browning's® Mastersmith Series

The Browning "Mastersmith Series" is remarkably successful, thanks in large part to the very desirable limits of only 500 of each knife. This means that there are never quite enough to go around to the dedicated collector/users of Browning products. "Big" John Fitch's large drop point is the third release in this series. The Bradshaw folder and Keeslar Hunter were released earlier this year. Two remain to be released, the James Crowell Hunter and the Jerry Fisk Hunter. We will take orders for the two remaining knives and deliver them as they become available. Each model is limited to 500 pieces and each knife is serial numbered. (Sorry, no choice of serial number.)

Fitch brings a natural talent to the knifemaking. He began making knives just a little over five years ago, but his knives rank with the top bladesmiths in the country. John is a member of the American Bladesmith Society, holding a journeyman rating, and the Arkansas Knifemakers Association. He teaches knifemaking at "Hammer-ins" across the country for the ABS, and finished second at the 2003 annual ABS World Championship Cutting Competition and third in 2004.

The Fitch Drop Point has a 5-3/4" broad spear point blade in the Rio Grande Camp Knife tradition that is large enough to chop with and small enough to do all the camp chores. This is a heavy flat ground blade of 1/4" high-carbon tool steel hardened to 57-59 Rc. that measures 1-5/8" wide. Built for cutting! The handle is stabilized Curly Maple, the sheath is brown leather. Measures a full 10-3/4" tip to butt and weighs 7.2 oz. Made in the U. S. A. Suggested retail is $299.00.
